The Knitty McPurly Year of Hats 2026

Hello, wonderful knitter!

Would you like to make one hat a month in 2026? At the end of the year, you will have a box of hats for teacher appreciation gifts, Christmas presents, birthday surprises, baby donations or just toppers for your own crown! 👑

Here’s how it works:

The club will open on December 1, 2025 at NOON EST. If you want to join BOTH Knitty McPurly clubs, order them at the same time to save on shipping!

1. Join the Year of Hats Club by adding the product to your cart and checking out. You will be billed monthly on the first of the month, and will receive your yarn before the first of the next month so you can start working right away! You can cancel anytime.
2. Each month you will receive a different Knitty McPurly yarn base (including the new Virginia Woolen Spun!) and custom color yarn. (Yarn will be an even mix of masculine and feminine, brights and neutrals.)
3. Each month will have an accoutrement for your hat! A tag, perhaps? A pom-pom if I can make that work! Suggestions are welcome!
4. Each month will come complete with (both free and paid) hat pattern suggestions that complement the yarn.
5. You can join the Year of Hats Facebook group to share your progress and see which hats everyone else is making! (Optional!)
6. Use #kmpyearofhats2026 to share pictures on Instagram!
7. Have a box of hats to choose from all year long!
